I think she thought it was her birthday!
Jingle Puzzles are aimed at children aged 3-6 years. Meg is obviously at the lower end of that age bracket and whilst she enjoyed and was able to tackle the puzzle on her own, the activity booklet was a little bit complex for her. We still gave it go though! She enjoyed using the stickers, and it was Meg who first twigged that one of the activities was to spot the silly mistakes in a picture. Bless her, she asked me why there was a fish flying and silly Mummy tried to come up with a logical answer before reading the instructions!!
Once completed, the puzzle has the first line of the song written out in musical form which older children would be able to have a go at playing. Meg was happy to point out the next word as we sang along though.
Not to mention the sing along CD which has been played every time we've gone out in the car! It has a variety of animal related nursery rhymes which I now know most of off by heart!

Interestingly, the box also included a leaflet from Music for Kids about introducing the concept of music to young children. We found this useful to read as we are a fairly musical couple and it has often been the source of discussions as to when it would be suitable to introduce Meg & Eli to playing a musical instrument and how best to go about letting them choose their own instrument rather than it being one that we play!
I think this is a great tool for young children. The puzzle pieces are large enough for little hands to grasp and simple enough for them to try on their own and for older children they can attempt the simple activity booklet on their own.
As well as Old MacDonald you can buy Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Wheels on the Bus and Five Little Speckled Frogs. They sell at £9.99 and you can find out more about them here.
I am also able to offer one of my lovely readers the chance to win a Jingle Puzzle (Old MacDonald Had A Farm). To enter please use Rafflecopter below.
This competition has now finished.

ReplyDeleteTwinkle twinkle is Eli's favourite. He learned some actions at nursery and does it all the time now. I think the classics are the best :)
